I am offering a tsuka(Japanese sword handle) rewrapping service here. Send me the old worn out handle of your katana or gunto and I will refurbish it for you with materials of your choice.

Typically people send me poorly wrapped gunto or tsuka where the
same has deteriorated and the wrap has become loose. I can fit new same(rayskin) to the tsuka and then re-wrap it with good quality Japanese ito including hishigami(wedges to regulate shape), as well as refit the fuchi kashira and menuki(positioning to your choice), and re-drill the mekugi hole.
Damage repaired
I can also fit mekugi in either bamboo or black buffalo horn at a small extra charge. I will carry out small repairs to cracks etc as needed. When finished I will send back to you recorded delivery, or by a means of your choosing.
Payment best by ‘Paypal’ either before comencement or half before if you prefer. If sent a tsuka that is beyond saving I will send it back to you and charge you only the postage-no silly apraisal charge! Please note that I do not make new tsuka from scratch.

Rewrapping with Japanese cotton and hishigami-£60.
Gunto
Rewrapping including plain same-£70.
Rewrapping including black same-£75.
Drilling and fitting bamboo peg-£4.
Drilling and fitting horn peg-£8.
Minor repairs-£5-£10.
Hishigami not required-Take off £5.
Chinese ito used-Take off £8.
